The first letter of Peter is a great book for helping us understand our Christian identity and purpose. One of the main themes is that we should consider ourselves to be ‘exiles’ (1:1) and ‘foreigners’ (1:17) in the world. This world not our home. We’re called to live distinctive lives that testify to a kingdom that is not of this world.
