Through the autumn, we’ll be continuing to explore the work of the Holy Spirit with a particular focus on his role in empowering and directing the mission of the Church.
This takes us once again to the Book of Acts where we see the first believers being caught up in God’s great mission. The sovereignty of the Spirit in mission – his enabling of witness, his strategic interventions, his choosing of ‘ordinary’ men and women, his strengthening in the face of opposition – all these themes come to the fore in the Book of Acts.
