Jonah and the Mission of God

Most people have heard of Jonah, the man who was swallowed by a whale. But what is the story about? At one level, it’s the tale of a man who foolishly tried to run away from God. But the main character in the book isn’t Jonah, it’s God. And the mission isn’t Jonah’s, it’s God’s. This is the story of a God who is relentless in his pursuit of people. And now God calls each of us to get involved with his mission in the world. Because if God can use a man like Jonah, then he can certainly use you and me.
