Jesus came to offer us “life in all its fullness” (John 10:10). The life he spoke of is a life that is lived beyond mere necessity. It’s participation in the very life of God himself. This is what the writers of the Bible mean by the phrase “eternal life”.For many of us, however, this rich experience of life can seem far off. We’re often harassed, pressured, stressed and far, far too busy. How can we do life better? How can we find healthy rhythms that usher us into fullness of life, rather than sucking us dry? How can we live counter-cultural lives which resist the unhealthy expectations of our society? These are the central concerns of our series. Over six weeks, we’ll be looking at the grand story that the Bible tells through the lens of “Rest”.
