Introduction to the Book of Hebrews

Hebrews isn't an easy book. Let's take some time to make sure we've understood the message of the book as a whole before drilling down into the detail.

Week Starting 23rd April - Hebrews 1:1-4 & 2:1-4

Andrew introduces the Book of Hebrews and starts looking at Chapters 1 & 2 in his talk on Sunday 23rd April.

Week Starting 30th April - Hebrews 1:5-2:18

Andrew looks at the subject of angels from Chapters 1 and 2 in his talk on 30th April. The second half of the video from The Bible Project is an extremely helpful introduction to angels in the Bible.

Week Starting 7th May - Hebrews 3:1-19

Matt starts looking at the theme 'Jesus is greater than Moses' from Chapters 3 & 4 on 7th May.

Week Starting 21st May - Hebrews 4:14-5:10

Andrew will start looking at this passage next week, but this is an opportunity to make a head start on the densest section of Hebrews. The video from the Bible Project is worth watching as it provides background to what Hebrews has to say about Jesus as a priest 'in the order of Melchizedek' (5:6 & 7:17).

Week Starting 28th May - Hebrews 5:11-6:20

Here's the 'warning passage' from this middle section of Hebrews. Andrew will consider this section in his talk on 28th May.
